FAQs

No, and we never pretend it is. It is their real voice and their real stories, in a form you can still talk to. It never claims to be them and it never invents a memory: ask about something they never spoke of and it says so, in their own way, instead of making an answer up. It does not search the internet and it does not borrow from anyone else's life. It is the part of them you get to keep, never a replacement for the people around you.

About thirty minutes of them speaking clearly. Old videos, recordings you already have, and a conversation recorded while they are still here all count toward it. Photos, letters and written memories are welcome too and become part of the stories you can talk about, but only real speech can make a voice. We tell you where you stand before any money changes hands, and if there isn't enough, we say so and make nothing: a voice that is nearly someone you love is a different thing, not a smaller version of the real one. If the person is still living, record them now, while the telling is easy.

Yes. Someone living records themselves, on purpose, knowing what it is for. For someone who has passed, you attest to your relationship and your family's blessing before anything is made. Only your own people: never a public figure, never someone else's family, and never a recording made without their knowledge. If someone here was created without the standing to do it, or a family member objects, write to us and a real person answers, never a form, and a remembrance can be taken down.

Only the people you invite. You share one link, they open it and start talking right there in the browser with nothing to install, and they can add memories and recordings of their own. To come back later, they enter a 6-digit code we email them. You decide who holds the link, you can revoke it any time, and everyone you invite talks with them free. Nothing is ever public, and nothing is shared without you.

It belongs to you, not to us. Delete a person and they are gone for good: from your library, from everyone you shared them with, and from our voice provider. Close your account and everything only you hold goes with it, while someone you shared with family passes into that family's keeping. We never sell your family's memories, and we never use them to build anything else. How long a family keeps someone is agreed in writing when we begin, never buried in a settings page, and we will never let someone you love quietly lapse: if that ever has to change, a real person tells you first, with time and real choices.
